1. The burn type knob allows you to select the mode of operation: lighting, normal wood burning or coal burning.
    2. The air volume knob, operated manually or with the remote control, adjusts the stove's air supply and therefore the intensity of the fire.
    3. The air necessary for combustion enters the stove.
    4. The air rises in temperature as it circulates behind and above the heating body.
    5. The air, preheated to 200°C is delivered slowly and evenly the heating body.
    6. Secondary combustion occurs as the preheated air mixes with the unburned gasses, thereby burning off pollutant particles and keeping the glass clean.
    7. The preheated air also feeds the bed of embers at the base of the fire. This is especially useful in maintaining clean combustion at lower settings.
    8. The under-grate air assists with lighting and can be used for burning.
    9. A minimum burn rate shutter can be adjusted at the time of installation to suit the performance of your flue, and ensures safe burning at all times.

Woodbox®

Woodbox technology

Woodbox technology combines the pleasures of warmth and simpler operation with exceptional energy efficiency. You are just a press of a remote control button away from all the Woodbox benefits.

Nestor Martin's patented Woodbox combustion technology uses a combination of a natural flue draught and pre-heated air delivered slowly and evenly over the fire. This produces the impressive flame effects, varying from a roaring blaze to multicoloured secondary combustion flames which dance above the logs.

Nestor Martin's wood stove and insert units also offer the unique advantage of programmable remote control so the tempo of the fire will intensify or slow down at a pre-set time. The built-in thermostat also enables you to set the desired temperature. The wood stoves and inserts can burn on a low setting for up to 10 hours without refilling. Nestor Martin stoves out-perform any others in this respect. The fantastic flame effects and the incredible close control over the fire are unrivalled. It is recognised throughout the world that only our superior combustion technology makes a stove a real Nestor Martin.

The Woodbox technology enables you to control your warmth and comfort simply, but it also offers you exceptional technical benefits:

  • Integrated combined primary combustion and secondary combustion system
  • Outstanding efficiency
  • Environmentally friendly emissions
  • Precise control of the burning rate in the stove
  • Air Wash system for a permanently clean window
  • Extra airflow to facilitate ignition
  • Cast iron heating body in airtight welded steel housing
  • Simple manual operation

An ecologically responsible choice

Over the years the environmental aspects have grown in importance, and this is reflected in our product strategy. All our stoves are produced using largely recycled materials and are fully recyclable in their turn.
The Kyoto protocol aims to restrict the emissions of greenhouse gases and thus take action against global warming. An Efel stove can make a significant contribution to this. All our stoves are designed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions to a minimum; and that is good for the environment. The energy in wood also comes from biomass and is therefore completely CO2-neutral. In the coming years our wood stoves will provide a viable alternative to fossil fuels.
